Swine Flu: Lessons not Learned and Health Freedom Increasingly at Risk!

The Swine Flu ‘pandemic’ turned out to be nothing more than a storm in a teacup generated by a flurry of conflicts of interest.

A majority of European Health Committee MEPs have nonetheless recently approved a report by Anne Delvaux (PPE) endorsing the existence of what was really an imaginary panic and calling for ‘more cooperation between member states’ to deal with future pandemics.

The document[1], available on the Cdh site, also states that the WHO – having chosen the perfect moment to modify its criteria for the definition of a pandemic – is now planning to change its criteria again by reinstating a criterion based on severity!

It is also somewhat perplexing to read that a majority of MEPs are in favour of a collective vaccine purchase scheme given that such a plan would clearly be more beneficial for the financial health of the vaccine manufacturers (for whom the risk of unsold stock and cancelled contracts would thus be reduced) than for any possible notion of health freedom and patient choice.  A scheme of this kind will not only make it very easy for national ministers to dodge their responsibilities but will also increase the risk of pro-vaccine propaganda and enforcement against which trouble-making rebels like Poland will no longer be able to take a stand.

It is more than worrisome that the report fails to differentiate between the publication of conflicts of interest and their resolution.  It has in fact been scientifically confirmed[2] that to acknowledge links does not necessarily prevent them from having an effect on the people concerned.

The price of this denial, this arrogance, could be very high indeed.

We must not forget that in 2010, more than 200 MEPs submitted a formal request for the European Parliament to open an enquiry into Swine Flu but this was rejected by representatives of the PPE and the European Socialist Party, all but a few of whom have since, disgracefully, retired to play the lobby game.  A mere glance at the panel summoned to the European Parliament discussion chaired by Anne Delvaux on the 9^th of February 2011 gives us a taste of the balance of power at play: European Commission, European Medicines Agency (EMA, more than 80% funded by the pharmaceutical industry), WHO (here assuming the role of judge in its own case), patient and physician groups (most of which are also funded by the industry), and so on.

Swine Flu has quite simply opened the ‘Pandora’s Box of Pandemics’

The overwhelming media hype which surrounded this false pandemic has, alone, primed public opinion for a conditioned response:

PANDEMIC = vaccination

Of course all this lines the pockets of Big Pharma.  As such, the threat of Avian Flu is now all the more topical and Medicago Inc has been boasting about its genetically-engineered vaccine which it claims not only to be safe and effective but which can also be developed in only four weeks.[3]

The company has even announced that final testing of its marvelous vaccine containing a new adjuvant could be completed in the second quarter of this year.  It would thus be ready in time to vaccinate the whole population before the next pandemic hits and could be produced in very large quantities.  One could be forgiven for fearing that this might be fertile ground for the imposition of vaccine requirements further down the line.

This is all the more worrisome in the light of comments by Mrs. Testori[4], Director General in the European Commission’s Directorate General for Health and Consumers, who hopes that in future, there will be pressure for compulsory (and arbitrary) vaccination of humans, as is already the case for animals….

So is this what’s behind the strange research being conducted by Professor Lina, officially on the French government payroll, to cross the swine (H1N1) and avian (H5N1) flu viruses in his P4 laboratory in Lyon[5]?  Wasn’t it just this kind of cross which the authorities claimed they feared above all else?

A grim prospect indeed, but there is still time for each and every one of us to understand what is happening and to take a stand.

Let’s not forget the falsely reassuring words of the officials regarding the ‘safety’ of the swine flu vaccines, developed in haste,[6] and now openly incriminated by the Finnish authorities for causing narcolepsy[7], a serious neurological disorder which has been observed in several children and adolescents.  What does the future hold for these youngsters?  Would they not have preferred the risk of swine flu if they had actually been given the choice?

We need to know that the BTWC (Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention), an international authority working along the same lines as the WHO, is conspiring, under the guise of international cooperation against bioterrorism 8, towards increasingly militarized healthcare through the management of future epidemics.

We must also understand that the dictat of the WHO and its financial supporters is causing the commercial and purely ideological aspects of vaccination to gain the upper hand.

The goal is in fact no longer to ‘protect’ people but to sell vaccines at any cost…

In its draft Global Immunization Vision and Strategy (GIVS) for the period 2006-2015,9 the WHO and UNICEF are quite open about their purely ideological position: “The goal is that by 2015, immunization must be high on all healthcare agendas.”

One of the strategies they are proud to reveal, involves going so far as to ensure that the unvaccinated are reached by the vaccination services at least four times a year, as if, in defiance of any freedom of choice, they intend to wear them down and persuade them in the end!

Along the same lines, the Journal du Médecin 10, a newsletter which sells advertising space to the pharmaceutical industry, reports that two European geriatric companies, both also funded by relevant pharmaceutical companies, are hoping to set up a ‘life-long’ vaccination programme to ‘fill the market niche of vaccines for the middle age range.”

Another Belgian medical journal, Le Généraliste 11, reports that in the UK, pharmacists are trained to give flu shots to the general public in their shops and that in future, they might also similarly vaccinate children!  This system has been set up to counter doctors’ flagging enthusiasm for this particular type of vaccination….

We have also discovered on the internet that a chain of American supermarkets and drug stores is handing out $10 grocery vouchers to all those who get the seasonal flu vaccine.12

Other websites 13 offer ‘flu shot gift cards’ which one can buy for friends and acquaintances.

Clearly, when it comes to vaccines, anything goes!

Vaccination has become an everyday word but the serious adverse effects are far greater than we think and can be an enormous burden for society.

At the same time, there are credible, safer and effective alternatives, even for delicate target groups like children and pregnant women, alternatives which remain completely suppressed by the authorities and most of the media.

These are key issues, especially in a time of financial crisis, because it is simply not right, in a society which operates under the rule of law, for taxpayers to be unilaterally obliged, against their will, to pay anything towards a form of disease prevention in which they do not believe, and then have to pay out of their own pockets for the alternative treatments they consider more effective.

It is simply not right for government ministers to rely always on the same advisors with links to the pharmaceutical industry, advisors who will of course only recommend the methods they know while arrogantly maligning and denying the benefits of alternative methods considered the undesirable competitors of the pharmaceutical companies which pay them.

In a pluralistic society, it is not only the right but also the duty of all citizens to ensure that this plurality of preventative and therapeutic methods is truly accepted and agreed by their decision-makers because if not, they will no longer be able to contest the gradual erosion of our health freedom – at present in a pretty bad way!

WAKE UP THE MASSES

The key to solving a problem is to understand it, and create massive awareness.

If everyone was aware that Sustainable Development was Orwellian ‘doublespeak’ that really means depopulation and slavery of the masses, there would be little support.

The biggest problem that we face is overgrowth of government which is correlated to:

• decline in the economy ( an example is the government’s bailout of the banksters)
• decline in peace ( we are 7 years into an unpopular war that was designed to increase corporate power and bankrupt the people)
• decline in the rule of law (like the unConstitutional health care reform)

The uninformed masses are giving our power away voluntarily, as demonstrated by these students who have been ‘greenwashed’.

KEY POINTS TO UNDERSTAND:

1. A “living Constitution”, open to reinterpretation, is the death of the Constitution and our rights.
2. The purpose of the financial meltdown and the bankruptcy of state and local governments, and the American people is to create a dependency on the federal government. The states and local governments then beg for federal funding, and sell their power. Agenda 21 Sustainable Development has added a new dimension to this: Public-Private Partnerships. PPPs are private entities that pair with governments and buy land, resources, utilities, and privileges and benefits, enforceable by the government. This is the definition of fascism.When the people become dependent on the federal government for money, and receive unemployment, welfare, social security, loans, grants, etc., they become beholden to the system. This creates fear of speaking out about the federal government.

   Collectivists love the Chinese model of oppression, where the people are dependent on the government for survival. The government owns the land, and all the resources on the land, they provide the people with land to live upon and work; privately owned property is prohibited. Everything comes from the government. The government dictates almost every aspect of the people’s lives, all the way down to controlling who can have children and how many.

3. An agency of the federal government determines the power of the federal government. That agency is the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court was created to settle disputes between states, not to determine policy for the nation.

DISMANTLING OF THE CONSTITUTION:

1. Americans are ignorant about the Constitution and the powers allotted to the federal government. Article 1, Section 8 spells out the enumerated powers given to the federal government.
2. The Bill of Rights has been twisted in on itself, with lawyers arguing one amendment against another. The intention of the Bill of Rights is clear, from the first words of the First Amendment: “CONGRESS SHALL PASS NO LAW…” This means that the Bill of Rights’ purpose is to limit the federal government. However, the Supreme Court has corrupted the intention and interpretation of the Bill of Rights, resulting in an expansion of the federal government.
3. Another problem is the concept of ‘social justice’, which is when favored groups receive benefits from the government. Our Constitution provides for equal justice, where everyone is equal under the law. But this has been abused in order to redistribute wealth, gerrymandering (giving special advantages to certain voting districts), etc.
4. The Commerce Clause has been corrupted; the intention of the Commerce Clause was to prevent discrimination between states. It has been expanded into federal powers that regulate everything!
5. Commerce within a state should remain independent, but under the Commerce Clause, the claim is that commerce inside of a state affects commerce across state lines, resulting in massive regulatory powers given to the feds. Again, this is another way that collectivists have chipped away at the 10th Amendment (states’ rights and autonomy).
6. The States created the federal government. Despite the usurpation of power by the federal government and the belief and propaganda that they are the boss, the States have more power. But they have given it away and the States must now stand for sovereignty.
7. Eminent Domain, intended for government use and/or public use, has been abused by the government to seize property and property rights without the consent of the owner. Since the Supreme Court decision in favor of Pfizer in the case of Kelo vs City of New London (on Pfizer’s behalf), one neighborhood was condemned under Eminent Domain, and bulldozed for the private corporation Pfizer to build a research facility (which was later closed).

The language of the Supremacy Clause has been distorted to imply that treaties supersede the Constitution:

“This Constitution and the laws, of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land………”

Of course, almost all treaties are designed and executed through the United Nations. The same UN that gave us Agenda 21.

The game plan is:

• Brainwashing us into believing the treaties do supersede the Constitution.
• Binding us up in an infinite number of treaties that kill liberty, but are propagandized as ‘for our own good’ and the ‘protection of the environment’.
• Slow implementation of the restrictions on freedom.
• Full enforcement of the regulations when the grid is in place.

However, the federal government and Supreme Court have purposely sidestepped clarifying the issue because their brainwashing program and grid are not yet complete.  And the true interpretation of the Supremacy Clause would nullify all of the unConstitutional treaties that have been signed.

Foundations, Depopulation & the Taxpayer

Many “philanthropic” foundations have been used in America as a tax dodge to protect family fortunes, to polish tarnished images of robber barons and worst of all, to make the public fund depopulation and other detrimental policies that benefit the controlling elite.  Some tax-funded depopulation programs include vaccines, genetically modified (GM) crops and “reproductive rights” which is a euphemism for abortion, birth control and sterilization under the elites’ eugenics programs.  Incredibly, the public is paying for its own demise!  This brings a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘death and taxes’.

What is a Foundation?

There are 1.6 million so-called ‘nonprofit’ 501(c)3 organizations in the US. Nonprofits are misnamed and are anything but not-for-profit; a more accurate description is that they are TAX EXEMPT organizations. The two two major types of tax exempt organizations are:

• Foundations- these are the grantors and they are required to donate 5% of their assets each year to charitable organizations. They enjoy enormous tax breaks from the federal government and pay no income tax, no corporate tax and no capital gains tax. States and local governments may also exempt them from property and sales taxation. Some powerful foundations are extremely influential in setting political policies and making laws that benefit their enterprises and pass the cost onto taxpayers.
• Nonprofit Organizations or NPOs also enjoy the same tax exemptions as foundations (no income, corporate or capital gains taxes). NPOs are structured like a business and seek grants from foundations, government subsidies and corporate and private donations. They do pursue profits.

Foundations make grants to NPO “charities”.  Assets within foundations are not owned by individuals, but individuals control the assets.  Because they are allowed to continually re-invest assets without taxation, foundations are used to protect family wealth through estate planning; this scheme is now expanding into business development which means that some businesses are seeking to cut their taxes by pretending to be charitable organizations.

Foundations date back to Greek and Roman times.  They became popular with the elites in the U.S. when they created the fraudulent Federal Reserve System and the income tax.

How the Public Pays for its Own Demise

The formula for coercing the public to pick up the bill for destructive programs begins with foundations creating a constituency, buying off politicians, and convincing Congress that an issue should be regulated by the government.  Once the issue is government controlled, it becomes taxpayer funded.

A good example of this man-made global warming, one of the cornerstones of UN Agenda 21, the overarching blueprint for total control and depopulation.  Fear and hysteria were created (based on flawed science from the UN) using NPOs in order to usher in government regulations funded by taxpayers.

Here is a more detailed explanation of the process:

1.  Foundations create constituency groups or supporters.

Education- foundations provide grants to schools and colleges; they often place one of their representatives on the school Board of Directors to influence curriculum.

Media- foundations spend a lot of money to make a splash in the news, sponsor media events and generate publicity.

Activism- foundations and their officers “donate” to NPOs and may then direct them.

2.  Politicians may bought or receive funding that influences them.  They may receive “donations” and campaign contributions from foundations, corporations and individuals.  OpenSecrets.org is a good source for finding information on political and lobbying contributions.

OpenSecrets.org provides information on politicians, their donors, contributors to government departments, corporate donors and lobbyist groups.

3.  The most critical step is for representatives of foundations argue in Congress that their issue should be regulated or acted upon by the government.  Once government policies are created, costs are passed on to the public through taxes, permit fees and other governmental charges.  David Cay Johnston, Pulitzer prize winner and author, said that this can be proven by investigating legislative back history, but it is very laborious process.

Foundation-inspired laws and regulations are not limited to the federal government, as state and local governments are targeted, too.

4.  Foundations may write the actual laws and regulations and administer them.

5.  Foundations may also lobby for for tax breaks and subsidies that benefit their interests.

6.  In some cases this entire process can be bypassed if there is enough money and power involved.  For example, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates met with Obama recently to discuss “fixing” the U.S. economy- who knows what deals were struck behind closed doors.

Another example is the prince of the UAE who pledged $50 million to Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for vaccines; ultimately, the prince’s money is derived from the citizens.

7.  Foundations can bolster their image or the image of their members at a discount rate by employing the ‘Pillsbury Formula’; this method is when the foundation puts up half the money (or some percentage) and demands matching funds from another source.  The finished project is created in their name and generates positive publicity at a bargain rate.

Conclusion:

Malthusian overpopulation myths are lies perpetrated by the controllers who seem to fear losing power and command over resources.  In fact, The UN’s own documents are a direct contradiction to their lies; world population is expected to reach 9 billion people by 2050 and is projected to remain at that level through 2300.  Many large foundations are dedicated to depopulation, especially those controlled by Rockefeller, Buffett and Gates.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffett’s ‘Giving Pledge’ is a not a foundation; it is merely a promise by wealthy elites to donate over half of their fortunes to “philanthropy” upon their death.  The Giving Pledge currently has over 50 members; the goal is to accumulate $600 billion in pledges from 400 billionaires.  The donors may choose any foundation or “charitable” foundation that they woud like to support.  Many are likely to choose a foundation that will take their donations and invest it in markets to make money, with an annual payout of only 5%.  Therefore, generating more wealth and influencing political policy to be funded by taxpayers (and destructive to the public in many cases) is a plausible result. This is hardly admirable.

People who are interested in finding out more about foundations and NPOs may obtain a free membership for independent researchers at GuideStar.org to investigate tax exempt entities’ IRS 990 tax forms which provides information about how much money they have, and may include the names of grant recipients, the names of the donors and a list of companies with whom they invest.  Not all foundations are corrupt, but the large ones that influence public policy deserve close scrutiny.  Please help by investigating and reporting your findings.

How long have we watered the Tree of Deceit with the blood of patriots? The details of this massive cover-up are carefully outlined in a book by John Farmer, who was the Senior Counsel for the 9/11 Commission. Farmer, Dean of Rutger Universities’ School of Law and former Attorney General of New Jersey, was responsible for drafting the original flawed 9/11 report. Does Farmer have cooperation and agreement from other members of the Commission? Yes. Did they say Bush ordered 9/11? Even more fortunately the language is clear, alive and instructive for anyone who wants to make certain this never happens again.” With the only “official” 9/11 report now totally false, where do we go from here? Who is hurt by these lies? The families of the victims of 9/11 have fought, for years, to get to the truth. For years, our government has hidden behind lies and secrecy to deny them closure. Farmer never tells us what. Nobody could keep a job in the public sector speaking out more than Farmer has. What were Farmer’s omissions? There are some. Now that we know that intelligence given the 9/11 Commission wasn’t just lies from our own government but based on testimony coerced through torture from informants forced to back up a cover story now proven false, a pattern emerges. We know that, immediately after 9/11, many more potential suspects and informants were flown directly to Saudi Arabia by Presidential order than were ever detained and questioned. We will never know what they could have said. Their testimony would have been vital to any real investigation were they not put beyond the reach of even Congress and the FBI. Putting aside all other questions of recent evidence of CIA involvement with bin Laden prior to 9/11 or altered physical evidence involving the Pentagon attack, any failure to call to account the systematic perjury committed by dozens of top government officials, now exposed as a certainty is an offense to every American. What do we know? We know the conjecture about 9/11 still stands but for certain, we know we were lied to, not in a minor way, but systematically as part of a plot covering up government involvement at nearly every level, perhaps gross negligence, perhaps something with darker intent. Are we willing to live with another lie to go with the Warren Report, Iran Contra and so many others? Has the sacrifice of thousands more Americans, killed, wounded or irreparably damaged by a war knowingly built on the same lies from the same liars who misled the 9/11 Commission pushed us beyond willingness to confront the truth? Have we yet found where the lies have begun and ended? There is no evidence of this, only evidence to the contrary. The lies live on and the truth will never be sought. The courage for that task has not been found. Obama Declares Dictatorial Power in State of the Union Address

In case you missed this blatant disregard for the Constitution, President Obama declared dictator powers in last night’s State of the Union Address:

“That’s why I’ve called for a bipartisan Fiscal Commission, modeled on a proposal by Republican Judd Gregg and Democrat Kent Conrad.

This can’t be one of those Washington gimmicks that lets us pretend we solved a problem. The commission will have to provide a specific set of solutions by a certain deadline.

Now, yesterday, the Senate blocked a bill that would have created this commission. So I’ll issue an executive order that will allow us to go forward, because I refuse to pass this problem on to another generation of Americans.”

Executive orders are unconstitutional. They were not authorized by the Founding Fathers, and are a product of 20th century presidents to cirumvent the legislative process.

It is reasonable to grant the President certain powers to act swiftly in extreme emergencies, but those powers are few, and can be overturned or stopped by the Congress.

President Obama’s statement, if followed by action, is grounds for impeachment. This abuse of power has no place in our Constitutional government. If Presidents are given the power to override any denial, we may as well toss the other two branches of government and the U.S. Constitution. Dictator Obama would not need them.

Scenario: Your government is displeased with the communication going on in your location and pulls the plug on your internet access, most likely by telling the major ISPs to turn off service.

This is what happened in Egypt Jan. 25 prompted by citizen protests, with sources estimating that the Egyptian government cut off approximately 88 percent of the country’s internet access. What do you do without internet? Step 1: Stop crying in the corner. Then start taking steps to reconnect with your network. Here’s a list of things you can do to keep the communication flowing.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES:

MAKE YOUR NETWORK TANGIBLE

Print out your contact list, so your phone numbers aren’t stuck in the cloud. Some mail services like Gmail allow you to export your online contact list in formats that are more conducive to paper, such as CSV or Vcard, and offer step-by-step guides on how to do this.

BROADCAST ON THE RADIO:

CB Radio: Short for “Citizens Band” radio, these two-way radios allow communication over short distances on 40 channels. You can pick one up for about $20 to $50 at Radio Shack, and no license is required to operate it.

Ham radio: To converse over these radios, also known as “amateur radios,” you have to obtain an operator’s license from the FCC. Luckily, other Wired How-To contributors have already explained exactly what you need to do to get one and use it like a pro. However, if the President declares a State of Emergency, use of the radio could be extremely restricted or prohibited.

GMRS: The General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) is a licensed land-mobile FM UHF radio service in the United States available for short-distance two-way communication. It is intended for use by an adult individual who possesses a valid GMRS license, as well as his or her immediate family members… They are more expensive than the walkie talkies typically found in discount electronics stores, but are higher quality.

Family Radio Service: The Family Radio Service (FRS) is an improved walkie talkie radio system authorized in the United States since 1996. This personal radio service uses channelized frequencies in the ultra high frequency (UHF) band. It does not suffer the interference effects found on citizens’ band (CB) at 27 MHz, or the 49 MHz band also used by cordless phones, toys, and baby monitors.

Microbroadcasting: Microbroadcasting is the process of broadcasting a message to a relatively small audience. This is not to be confused with low-power broadcasting. In radio terms, it is the use of low-power transmitters to broadcast a radio signal over the space of a neighborhood or small town. Similarly to pirate radio, microbroadcasters generally operate without a license from the local regulation body, but sacrifice range in favor of using legal power limits.

Packet Radio Back to the ’90s: There do exist shortwave packet-radio modems. These are also excruciatingly slow, but may get your e-mail out. Like ham radio above it requires a ham radio license because they operate on ham radio frequencies.

TELEPHONE:

Set up a phone tree: According to the American Association of University Women, a phone tree is “a prearranged, pyramid-shaped system for activating a group of people by telephone” that can “spread a brief message quickly and efficiently to a large number of people.” Dig out that contact list you printed out to spread the message down your pyramid of contacts.

Enable Twitter via SMS: Though the thought of unleashing the Twitter fire hose in your text message inbox may seem horrifying, it would be better than not being able to connect to the outside world at all. The Twitter website has full instructions on how to redirect tweets to your phone.

Call to Tweet: A small team of engineers from Twitter, Google and SayNow, a company Google acquired recently, made this idea a reality. It’s already live and anyone can tweet by simply leaving a voicemail on one of these international phone numbers (+16504194196 or +390662207294 or +97316199855) and the service will instantly tweet the message using the hashtag #egypt. No Internet connection is required. People can listen to the messages by dialing the same phone numbers or going to the Twitter account, speak2tweet.

Alex Jones and infowars.com have a telephone number for people to listen to his radio show by phone, in case the internet goes down, or if you don’t have internet. The phone in listen line is 512-646-5000.

FAX:

If you need to quickly send and receive documents with lengthy or complex instructions, phone conversations may result in misunderstandings, and delivering the doc by foot would take forever. Brush the dust off that bulky old machine, establish a connection by phone first with the recipient to make sure his machine is hooked up, then fax away.

You may not need a fax machine to send or receive faxes if your computer has a dial-up fax application.

NON-VIRTUAL BULLETIN BOARD

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the virtual world that we forget about resources available in the real world. Physical bulletin boards have been used for centuries to disseminate information and don’t require electricity to function. If you are fortunate enough to be getting information from some other source why not share it with your friends and neighbors with your own bulletin board? Cork, magnetic and marker bulletin boards are as close as your nearest dime store and can be mounted just about anywhere. And if push comes to shove you can easily make your own with scrap wood lying around the house.

Getting back onlineWhile it might be relatively easy for a government to cut connections by leveraging the major ISPs, there are some places they wouldn’t get to so readily, like privately-owned networks and independent ISPs.

FIND THE PRIVATELY RUN ISPs

In densely populated areas, especially in central business districts and city suburbs there are multiple home WiFi networks overlapping each other, some secure, some not. If there is no internet, open up your WiFi by removing password protection: If enough people do this it’s feasible to create a totally private WiFi service outside government control covering the CBD, and you can use applications that run Bonjour (iChat on Mac for example) to communicate with others on the open network and send and receive documents. **needs more clarification

If you are a private ISP, it’s your time to shine. Consider allowing open access to your Wi-Fi routers to facilitate communication of people around you until the grid is back online.

RETURN TO DIAL-UP

According to an article in the BBC about old tech’s role in the Egyptian protests, “Dial-up modems are one of the most popular routes for Egyptians to get back online. Long lists of international numbers that connect to dial-up modems are circulating in Egypt thanks to net activists We Re-Build, Telecomix and others.”

Dial-up can be slow. Often, there is a lightweight mobile version of a site that you can load from your desktop browser quickly despite the limitations of dial-up. Examples: mobile.twitter.com, m.facebook.com, m.gmail.com.

AD-HOC NETWORKING

Most wireless routers, PCs, laptops, and even some ultramobile devices like cellphones have the ability to become part of an “ad hoc” network, where different “nodes” (all of the devices on the network) share the responsibility of transmitting data with one another. These networks can become quite large, and are often very easy to set up. If used properly by a tech-savvy person, such networks can be used to host temporary websites and chat rooms. There are many internet tutorials on the internet for ad hoc networking, so feel free to google some.

Apple computers tend to have very accessible ad hoc functionality built in, including a pre-installed chat client (iChat) that will automatically set up an ad hoc “Rendezvous” chatroom among anybody on the network, without the need for an external service like AIM or Skype. Ad hoc network-hosting functionality is built in to the Wi-Fi menu.

Windows computers have several third-party ad hoc chat applications available (such as Trillian) and setting up an ad hoc Wi-Fi network is almost as simple as on a Mac.

Linux operating systems, of course, have plenty of third-party apps available, and most distros have ad hoc network-creation support built in.

BUILD LARGE BRIDGED WIRELESS NETWORK

Using popular wireless access point devices like a Linksys WRT54G, you can create a huge wireless bridged network — effectively creating a Local Area Network (LAN), or a private Internet that can be utilized by all users within range using a Wi-Fi enabled device.

You can also link multiple devices together wirelessly, extending the range of your network. Most access points will cover a 100 meter area and if your wireless device is built to support the 802.11n wireless standard, you will get almost a 500 meter coverage area for each access point.

NINTENDO DS

A used DS family device can be purchased inexpensively. In addition to wi-fi, the DS supports its own wireless protocols. Using Pictochat, it is possible to chat with nearby DS users without having any DS games. Unfortunately, the range is quite short.

Some games, such as the fourth generation Pokemon games, support mail items. Thus you can send your message under the guise of just playing a game. Mail items can be sent through the Internet if you can get on the net and you and your partner(s) have each other’s friend codes.

The original DS and the DS Lite do support the Opera web browser, but finding the game card and memory pack may be very difficult. Starting with the DSi, Opera is downloadable.

INTRANET

Your computer has the ability to set up your own INTRANET. This was done BEFORE the internet was popularized in two ways: Your computer dialed up other computers and sent them the contents of a message board, or local people people dialed into your computer. A nationwide system can be set up this way with a central location sending to many cities then each city sending out the info locally.

BECOME UNTRACEABLE

If you’re going to post government secrets on your work-around site, you may want to set up an untraceable account. Really, you only need a mail drop, an assumed name, a prepaid credit card you can get at many stores to set up service.

GET SATELLITE ACCESS

You can have very, very slow internet if you have something similiar to an Iridium phone, which would allow you to do dial up at 2400 baud, which at least gives you e-mail. This will also work when your government has shut down GSM and telephone access, and will work pretty much anywhere on the planet. If you’re in the right place, get yourself KA-SAT access which is satellite broadband and will not be routed through any internet exchange that certain local governments may monitor or block (unless that government is part of EU or er … Uncle Sam.

BACK TO BASICS

Make some noise: Have an air horn or other loud instrument handy. It may just come down to being able to alert people in your local geographic area, who would otherwise be unaware of an emergency. You may also want to learn a bit about Morse code and have a cheat sheet available.
