Obama Declares Dictatorial Power in State of the Union Address

In case you missed this blatant disregard for the Constitution, President Obama declared dictator powers in last night’s State of the Union Address:

“That’s why I’ve called for a bipartisan Fiscal Commission, modeled on a proposal by Republican Judd Gregg and Democrat Kent Conrad.

This can’t be one of those Washington gimmicks that lets us pretend we solved a problem. The commission will have to provide a specific set of solutions by a certain deadline.

Now, yesterday, the Senate blocked a bill that would have created this commission. So I’ll issue an executive order that will allow us to go forward, because I refuse to pass this problem on to another generation of Americans.”

Executive orders are unconstitutional. They were not authorized by the Founding Fathers, and are a product of 20th century presidents to cirumvent the legislative process.

It is reasonable to grant the President certain powers to act swiftly in extreme emergencies, but those powers are few, and can be overturned or stopped by the Congress.

President Obama’s statement, if followed by action, is grounds for impeachment. This abuse of power has no place in our Constitutional government. If Presidents are given the power to override any denial, we may as well toss the other two branches of government and the U.S. Constitution. Dictator Obama would not need them.

One Response to “Obama Declares Dictatorial Power in State of the Union Address”

  1. These illegal methods of getting power, or their way on certain issues or promises made to the Special interest groups that financed their election/reelections, dictates the means that our Politicians used to promote their Agenda. These infringements to the constitution is becoming more obvious to the citizens in the world who are not sleep walking through life, willing to accept anything that our Politicians do simply because it is the easy thing to do. Taking action does not mean that you have to take to the streets and march, if you don’t want to. You can take action by picking up your pen and write to your elected officials and let them know how you feel about current issues (cutting the deficient, employment), let the officials know that they are supposed to implement policies that benefit their constituents not the Corporations. You could make a petition regarding a Woman’s right to chose regarding birth control or any topic of the day, get signatures and send the petition with a letter explaining your position and what you want the elected official to do regarding the issue. If you want to march organize it and spread the word via the Internet, email, fliers ect. The point is there are things that we can do when our government infringe on our rights voice your opinion, write a letter, or write and circulate a petition, or organize a peaceful march..

Recent, illegal action used by politicians to get their way. The Presidential election of George W. Bush (son). President Bush clearly lost the election to Al Gore, but George Bush brother Jeb Bush was the governor of Florida at the time and despite the the fact that Al Gore won the popular vote in Florida and in particular Broward county. Broward county was the last county to turn in their results, and Al Gore was the projected winner, then Jeb Bush and the Republican party started their quest to get in office despite the fact that their candidate lost. Then we start with the recounts, and these results were recounted Lord knows how many times. When the results still showed that Al Gore won then the most blatant disregard for the constitution was taken. Instead of giving the Presidency to Al Gore because he won the Popular vote, this election was given to Florida’s Supreme court to decide who would become President. The courts have no part in the election process. What should have been done was to hold another election in Broward county, but the Republicans knew that the results would be the same because Broward county is predominately Black and most Black voters are either Democrates or Independent. So, to avoid the same results they let a judge that they knew was pro Republican chose George W. Bush. Using a judge was also a total disregard for the Black vote in Broward county. We can see how disastrous that was, we are in two wars one of which we should have never started which is the war in Iraq. Many will say that the war in Afghanistan is questionable too because the US was behind 911. I will say that Iraq is a war that George W. Bush should not have started. In Bush’s government like most modern Republicans there is no enforcement of regulations. So, Wall street went nuts with predatory lending, banks charging outrageous interest rates and more. So we amassed a hugh deficit, reckless spending by the government which for 6 of Bush’s 8 years was controlled by the Republicans in both the house and the senate. They (Rep) made a mess not only of the United States economy but the entire world’s economy was effected when Wall street crumbled…

If you don’t like what you see take some kind of action, it can and does make a difference. If you do nothing you will lose your freedom!
